School and Community
Lake Zurich High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school in Community Unit School District 95, located 38 miles northwest of Chicago, Illinois. LZHS serves 1790 students from the communities of Lake Zurich, Deer Park, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, unincorporated Lake County, and North Barrington, encompassing an area of 19.4 square miles. In order to serve a diverse student population, LZHS offers a wide range of instruction from English language learners, special education services, as well as Honors, Dual Credit, and AP Courses.
Curriculum
Lake Zurich High School offers a college preparatory curriculum including 32 Advanced Placement (AP) Courses, 14 Dual Credit (DC), and 74 Honors level courses in many disciplines. Lake Zurich High School maintains partnerships with the College of Lake County, Lake County Tech Campus, and the University of Illinois to provide dual credit opportunities for students across academic content areas. Additionally, LZHS provides opportunities for students to earn a career pathway endorsement in:
- Manufacturing, Engineering, Technology, Trades (METT) - Engineering
- Human and Public Services - Education
- Finance and Business Services - Accounting
- Tech Campus Pathways - Criminal Justice, Firefighting/EMS, Certified Nurses Assistant, Genetics, Medical Assisting, Biomedical, Cybersecurity, Information Technology
