TODAY is the last day for the submission of the “Promposal.”   DM us your promposal videos by the end of TODAY to @LZHSjuniorboard. We will announce the winners on FRIDAY.  Winners must be in good academic standing to receive the tickets.

The solar eclipse is taking place TODAY at around 2:07 pm.  THIS is a total solar eclipse meaning that as the moon passes between the sun and earth it will completely block the face of the sun provided you are in the path of totality. You will be able to experience 94% totality here at LZHS. When a solar eclipse occurs, the sky darkens, and the air gets colder so watch out for those signs! This solar eclipse is special because another one like this won't occur in the US until 2044. A solar eclipse can damage your eyesight so if you want to safely enjoy this special solar eclipse make sure you wear the eclipse glasses!

For any senior who will be continuing their career in athletics after high school and committing to play at their university next year, there will be a signing day on May 10th after school.  Sign up in the Athletic Office.

Attention All Car Lovers! We are thrilled to announce the upcoming “Cars for Cause” Car Show happening here at LZHS on Sunday, April 21st from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  Come join us for a day filled with incredible cars, all in support of Lurie’s Children’s Hospital.  Check out the flyers posted around school or email Dr. Lambert!

Attention Seniors and Juniors who plan to attend prom. Want to win free tickets for you and your date? The Junior Class Board will be hosting a “Promposal” Competition this year. DM us your promposal videos by MONDAY @LZHSjuniorboard. We will announce the winners on April 12th. Winners must be in good academic standing to receive the tickets.

The solar eclipse on MONDAY is a total solar eclipse meaning that as the moon passes between the sun and earth it will completely block the face of the sun provided you are in the path of totality. On MONDAY at around 2:07 pm you will be able to experience 94% totality here at LZHS. When a solar eclipse occurs, the sky darkens, and the air gets colder so watch out for those signs! This solar eclipse is special because another one like this won't occur in the US until 2044. A solar eclipse can still damage your eyesight so if you want to enjoy this special solar eclipse make sure you wear eclipse glasses!

Register now for LZHS Summer Athletic Camps.  Camps are available for kindergarten through high school students.  Camp brochure and links to register can be found on the LZHS web page and the Athletics web page.

Attention Readers! It's the final push for our Spring Reading Contest! Remember all books must be reported in by April 19th to count towards your total number. After that, prizes will be awarded for the books recorded. Good luck and happy reading!

You were all given a student ID on a red lanyard at the beginning of the school year; our expectation is that you wear them, so they are visible at all times.  Other than being recognized as a student of LZHS, in the event of a medical emergency, we need to know who you are.

If you are coming to school late or returning to school after leaving for an appointment, please remember to sign in at the Attendance Office. Even if you are coming in during a passing period, you must sign in.

If you are not attending Office Hours after school today, please report to Field House.   Thank you for your cooperation.

HAVE A GREAT DAY OF LEARNING, with mindfulness of respect and kindness towards one another!

March 20, 2024

Today's focus is on parking lot safety. Here are some important reminders:

·        If you're a passenger, be responsible and avoid distracting the driver.

·        Slow down! The speed limit is only 15 mph.

·        Park only in your designated spot; do not park in visitor parking.

·        Stay focused and avoid distractions like texting while driving.

·        Watch out for pedestrians and other vehicles.

Remember, failure to follow the rules may result in losing your parking spot and we don’t want this to happen. Let's work together to keep our parking lot safe for everyone!
