Career Job Fair Opportunity
9/5/24
Dear Freshman Parents/Guardians and Students,
Career Navig8 Lake County is set to be a large-scale event hosted at the Lake County Fairgrounds on October 30, 2024. This event will be open to all 8th graders and high school students in Lake County and is designed to motivate students to explore careers in partnership with area businesses. This Career Exploration Day aims to provide students with a valuable opportunity to connect with various businesses representing multiple career pathways.
Lake Zurich High School is offering this to the first 250 Freshman who fill out this form. Please have this filled out by the end of the day September 20, 2024. The bus will leave Lake Zurich High School at 12PM and come back at 3PM. Students will have to make up all work that they missed. You will be informed in early October if you are able to attend the trip. If more than 250 students sign up, it will be first come, first serve.
The purpose of Career Navig8 is to offer hands-on experiences that align with the districts’ comprehensive career readiness curriculum in tandem with the PaCE Framework. This will help students gain a deeper understanding of the diverse career opportunities available within our community and across different career pathways. The event supports our mission to develop students who are self-directed learners, collaborative workers, complex thinkers, quality producers, and community contributors.
Our goal is to involve a wide range of businesses and individuals, each representing different career pathways. Every business will have a booth featuring a hands-on activity to engage students and provide insight into their respective careers. Throughout the day students will visit various career booths grouped in pathways, enhancing their career exploration journey. Exploring careers helps students become more informed when choosing high school electives and making post-secondary choices.
Thanks,
John L. Walsh
