Dear LZHS Families,

We are aware of information circulating on social media regarding a possible student walkout related to ICE that is being promoted for next Thursday, February 12th, during 8th period.

Any walkout during the school day without prior parent/guardian approval is considered unexcusedand students will need to make up any work that is missed. Students who choose to participate are expected to follow all school expectations as outlined in the Parent-Student Handbook, along with all Board policies. Students will be directed on how and where they may safely exit the building and congregate. Classroom teachers will continue teaching regardless of whether a walkout occurs.

The school’s priority is student safety and maintaining a respectful learning environment. If a walkout occurs, established supervision and safety procedures will be implemented, consistent with past practice and in coordination with local first responders. The LZHS School Resource Officer (SRO) will be on site.

Any questions or concerns should be directed to me, John Walsh, at john.walsh@lz95.org or 847-540-4109. Safety concerns may also be reported confidentially through Safe2Help Illinois.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,

John Walsh
Principal
