Freshman Orientation
Dear Freshmen Students and Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the students and parents of the Class of 2027 to Lake Zurich High School! Each new class adds such incredible and unique contributions to our amazing school. LZHS truly is a special place to learn and grow. We are looking forward to what each one of you will add to LZHS over the next four years.
To help familiarize students with the school, I would like to invite you to attend our Freshmen Orientation Program. We have two programs back again this year, one for the parents and one for the students. The evening program on Monday, August 14, starting at 7:00 p.m. will be for parents only. This program will be held in the Performing Arts Center and is designed to help introduce Lake Zurich High School to you as parents/guardians. To give you a chance to begin showing your “true colors”, we will have LZHS clothing and other accessories on sale during the evening.
The student orientation will be held on Monday, August 14, beginning at 8:00 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center. Transportation will be provided both to school and back to their bus stops. For freshman orientation, students will be picked up one (1) hour earlier than their normal bus pick up time (ex: Synergy Parent Vue shows a 8:10 am pick up time, they will be picked up at 7:10 am). The bus stops will be the regular bus stops which can be accessed via Synergy Parent Vue. Students will enter the building at Door #15 (PAC entrance). During the program students will listen to short presentations from members of the LZHS administration and staff, get “inside views'' of LZHS’s athletics and activities from student leaders, tour the building, have opportunities for questions and answers, and receive additional information that will help make your start at LZHS a successful one. Students should bring a copy of their course schedule because they will have an opportunity to walk their schedule during the orientation. Students will board the school bus and depart from LZHS around 12:00 pm.
We are looking forward to the Class of 2027 joining Lake Zurich High School. It is our hope the next four years will be a time of growth, opportunities, challenges, successes, and fun. I look forward to meeting both students and parents on August 14 at our orientation programs. I anticipate a productive and fulfilling four years together.
Sincerely,
Dr. John Walsh
Principal
