Message from Dr. John Walsh
Dear Lake Zurich High School Parents, Guardians, and Students,
After 18 years in Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95, I’m honored to serve as the Lake Zurich High School Interim Principal for the 2023-2024 school year. I have served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and Director of Data, Assessment, and Programs during this time. I’m thrilled to be in this new role and continue to serve the larger Lake Zurich community.
Personally, I am a father to two wonderful children Meara (13) and Sean (10). I’ve been married to my wife Christy, a teacher, for the last 16 years. We live in Arlington Heights and are looking forward to a new Chicago Bears stadium…maybe! A long time ago, I grew up on the Northwest side of Chicago and went to Farnsworth Elementary School and St. Patrick High School. I find that Lake Zurich has many transplants from the Northwest side of Chicago, even one parent who attended Farnsworth!!
Communication between home and school is essential to ensure our students' success. There are multiple ways in which you will find communications from Lake Zurich High School administration. On the Lake Zurich High School main webpage, there is an icon that says, “Recent School Communications.” You can also find this under the “Parents” tab. On the “Recent School Communications” page you will find “Newsletters,” “Recent Emails,” and “Link to District Communications.” All Lake Zurich High School Administration communications can be found on this page. Please click here to access this page.
Students and families should expect a newsletter from me twice a month. Any communication from Lake Zurich High School Administration can be found in my newsletter. It is an all-encompassing newsletter. If you want a specific communication, go through the “Newsletter” or “Recent Emails” tab. Also, you can follow me on Twitter. Finally, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone, e-mail, or in person. Communication is key and so critical for students to be successful! Please reach out if you need anything at all!
As we start the 23-24 school year, there is much information to share. This Thursday, July 20th, I will send out my first newsletter of the year. Please be on the lookout for this newsletter! I look forward to seeing you all soon. Enjoy the rest of the summer!!!
