Safe2Help
Effective the 23-24 school year, District 95 is partnering with Safe2Help, an organization that provides around-the-clock support for students and families who wish to report a concern in a confidential manner. Counseling Services
LZHS Counselors provide a wide range of services to students, including the following:
- Academic support (i.e., support with course selection, problem-solving support for students struggling in classes, assistance with executive functioning skills)
- Social-emotional support (i.e., problem-solving issues with peers, support with advocating for their needs in school)
- College and career readiness (i.e., support with college applications, support exploring job opportunities post-high school)
Additionally, counseling staff support with all freshmen transitioning to LZHS through the Freshmen Foundations program.

Freshman Foundations
Freshman Foundations aims to provide freshmen a safe and dynamic environment to enrich their social/emotional, college/career readiness and academic transition to Lake Zurich High School. All freshman students will participate in Freshman Foundations for 20 minutes during their lunch period, three days per week. Sections are assigned according to the counseling caseload. The goals of the program are as follows:
- Demonstrate social-emotional growth in the areas of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
- Be fully acclimated to the high school environment, including policies and procedures, by the end of their first year of high school.
- Develop a relationship with their school counselor for the purpose of developing a four-year plan that will lead to proactive academic, social-emotional, and college/career counseling.
- Learn from the experiences of successful LZHS junior and senior students who demonstrate leadership by serving as mentors for Freshman Foundations.

Psychologist Services
LZHS psychologists provide a wide range of services to students, including the following:
- Social-emotional support (i.e., problem-solving issues with peers, support with advocating for their needs in school, counseling support for more involved student issues and concerns)
- Instruction in key areas (i.e., navigating bullying issues/concerns, recognizing signs of depression/suicide awareness)
- Supporting students in crisis
- Acting as leads in the building multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) teams
- Acting as leads in the evaluation and re-evaluation process for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Crisis Counseling Support
LZHS additionally has a crisis counselor on staff, to support other Student Services team members with supporting more intensive student needs. In addition to working with students in crisis, this staff member additionally runs groups to support student social-emotional needs, and acts as the main liaison for students receiving additional intervention via a hospital program.

504 Coordinator/Student Interventionist
The 504 Coordinator/Student Interventionist acts as the case manager for all students with a Section 504 Plan (effective the 23-24 school year). This staff member additionally supports with provision of additional interventions for students with attendance and behavioral concerns, in collaboration with the Deans Office.
